WhiteWater World, Gold Coast

We had a splashing day at WhiteWater World today. It took us only about 40 mins to drive from Brisbane to Gold Coast. Ling and Mike ended up purchasing a 2 year pass to both Dreamworld and also WhiteWater World since they would be here for the next 3 years. We bought a day pass to the water park.
I was getting quite excited because the park was well designed and most of the rides were close to each other. From the map that was given when your ticket was purchased, you can get all the information you need to navigate the water park. They also designed it well with lots of sails and shades so that you don't fry out there on a hot day.
It was rather hot today but very breezy. There were some cloudy moments which made it really cold especially when you are wet and waiting on the high steps for a ride. All of us were shivering!
The queue was sometimes a pain. It took so long to get your turn and the splashing fun only lasted about 20 seconds! Still it was great. It was like a wet roller coaster ride. We went on The Green Room first. David almost lost his nerve when he saw how steep the drop was. The anticipation is really great because you slowly make your way up while hearing all the ear piercing screams from those that are going down the splash!
I made some of my own ear piercing screams when I went down!
Then we took a turn at playing with Harry at the kids' pool so that Ling & Mike could take their turn at the slides. Our next wait was for The Bro which was a sorta a water sled race. I had trouble trying to "kick" start my sled mat. Must have looked really funny to the other people waiting. Bum in the air, trying to push body and sled down the slide! To top it off, I swallowed water because we had to go face down and that last splash was what did it!
The Rip was probably the longest wait but quite good fun but the one we wanted to go on most was the Super Tubes Hydrocoaster and we didn't! They were facing some delays and there was a sign to say that there'd be a one hour wait for the ride - we didn't bother.
It was good fun and I think my shoulders are smarting now because of the sun. It's been a long time since I had a bit of a tan.
We are going back again next week, when the Australian schools starts - we should be able to get as many rides without having to queue forever! Along the way, we will probably head out to Movie World.
